What is Arizona iAcademy?
How many classes can I take and how much time do I need to spend?
To be a full time student you must be online at least 20 hours per week regardless of how many classes you are enrolled in. You must take a minimum of 2 classes and we recommend no more that 4 classes at any one time. A student can complete a class as fast as they choose but must complete a class within 21 weeks.
Can I earn a real diploma on AiA?
When a student completes the AiA graduation requirements, they are eligible to receive a diploma from Chino Valley High School. The credits earned at AiA are fully transferable to other public schools in Arizona.
Is AiA really free?
AiA is tuition free for all Arizona students up to 22 years of age. Students outside of Arizona and those 22 years or older can take courses through AiA on a tuition basis.
I am an adult that dropped out of high school. Can I get a diploma through AiA?
Adults aged 22 and older can take courses towards a high school diploma through AiA on a tuition basis. AiA will request records from schools previously attended for potential transfer credits. When a student completes the AiA graduation requirements, they are eligible to receive a diploma from Chino Valley High School.
Do I need to take the AIMS test?
Students aged 21 or younger must pass all three sections (reading, writing, and mathematics) of the AIMS test in order to receive a high school diploma. Students aged 22 or older are exempt from this requirement.
I'm a home schooler. How can AiA help me?
AiA can work with you to provide accredited courses to help you with your home schooling. You let us know what classes you want to take. These classes are free to Arizona resident 21 years of age or younger.
Can I attend another school and AiA at the same time?
In order to be enrolled in AiA, you can only be enrolled in another school 1/2 time. If you want to remain a full time student in another school, you will be required to pay a tuition for each class you take through AiA. |
